Indra Baatarkhuu, Intern in IIRR's US Office, graduates from the Bard Globalization and International Affairs Program

Indra Baatarkhuu, Intern in IIRR's US Office, graduates from the Bard Globalization and International Affairs Program. A participant in the Open Society Institute's Undergraduate Exchange Program, Indra is a George Soros Foundation scholar. As part of the Bard Globalization and International Affairs Program at Bard College, Indra completed a competitive academic and internship program combining coursework in international affairs with an internship in a related field. Her home university is the School of Foreign Service at the National University of Mongolia.

In the US Office of IIRR, Indra contributed to marketing, communications, finance, fundraising, event planning, and administrative efforts. Indra will be returning to Mongolia in June to complete her studies. As a result of her internship with IIRR, she also plans to bring IIRR's Bio-Intensive Gardening approach to Ulaanbaatar and has been given a grant of $500 from the Open Society Institute to undertake her project.

Lara Crampe, Development Officer, joins IIRR's US Office

IIRR announces the appointment of Lara Crampe, Development Officer for the US Office.

Lara has over 10 years of experience in nonprofit management and operations ranging from environmental justice advocacy with low-income neighborhoods in Washington, DC to overseeing the US branch of an international peace organization. She joins IIRR after 5 years at the Taproot Foundation, the largest nonprofit consulting firm in the US. Prior to that, she worked with the International Rescue Committee and served as Treasurer of the Board of Directors for US Servas. She has a Masters degree in Geography concentrating on Community Development and her Bachelors degree in International Development concentrating in International Agricultural Development. She hails from West Virginia.
